Boardroom furniture no longer has to be the standard collection of boring high backed black leather chairs placed around a 1 mile long rectangular walnut table. Indeed, the very function of today’s conference room furniture has changed drastically dictating an equal change in conference room furniture design. Information in the form of PowerPoint presentations and hard copy exchanges constantly takes place during most business meetings.
Teleconferencing is also extremely prevalent today. This leaves a situation where chairs and tables used for these meetings must be compatible with a complete range of movement. Higher level management must be able to easily pass around information and everyone must have a view of conferencing monitors. The current trend is towards much more narrow boardroom tables combined with simple WorkStation operator chairs that allow more people and easily accommodate a smaller space. This system also further accommodates impromptu presentations by staff and board members.
